About Us

At JoJo’s Emporium, we believe in the power of craft, culture, and community. Our journey began with a love for travel, trade and a passion for discovering beautifully made, authentic pieces from across the globe. Every year, we set out to connect with artisans and family-run businesses in Nepal, India, Thailand, Bali, Mexico, Guatemala, Ecuador, Colombia, and Peru, each destination adding to the story of our carefully curated collection.

JoAnn began her own journey by reselling vintage clothing and accessories while exploring her passion as a silversmith, creating handmade jewelry. She envisioned a way to combine her skills with her love of travel, sourcing raw fabrics, jewelry, and handicrafts from around the world. Her goal was to put her own "JoJo twist" on these traditional materials, making them more wearable and accessible for Western culture while honoring the authenticity of their origins.

Many of the pieces in our shop are tailored by family-run cottage industries, where we’ve built lasting relationships with local artisans. Working with these family businesses allows us to support the creation of new product lines, which, in turn, contributes directly to the communities by helping fund equipment, create jobs, and empower village men and women. We’re proud to see how these partnerships continue to thrive and grow.

JoJo's Emporium began on the festival trail, with JoAnn setting up pop-up spaces at music festivals and markets across Canada. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, JoAnn pivoted from the festival circuit and opened a permanent shop. Today, she continues to bring her thoughtfully curated pieces to life through her store while maintaining a presence at festivals and pop-up spaces, focusing mainly on Vancouver Island.

At JoJo’s Emporium, every piece has a story. We invite you to explore our collection and discover something truly special.
